The organ in the church of Our Lady of Help
The organ was built in 1902 by Paul Nosek of Broumov.
Mechanical action with a cone chest; the cones are closer to cylinders. The organ is in very good condition — the pipes, the manual, the pedalboard and the action have all been overhauled, and the delicate original finish of the pipes has been restored. In hot, dry summer weather the organ tends to cipher (the chest itself was not overhauled), which we keep in check by humidifying the air. The pipes stand very close together and the slightest knock puts them out of tune, so we have them tuned every year.

Sound
The sound has a charm of its own and the full organ carries well. It suits baroque, rococo and classical music, the more intimate repertoire in particular — there is no mutation stop. It is excellent for Czech romantic and early modern music, and sounds surprisingly well in French, German and other repertoire too.
